Campus-Grown Trees Transformed

When one of our campus trees needs to be pruned, or removed for health or safety reasons, the green-waste wood is either chipped and used as mulch in landscapes throughout campus, or — depending on future project needs — salvaged and delivered to a local wood miller.

No Flower? No problem! Think outside the bud

Staff at the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden hope to educate their community to think outside the bud, set up their landscapes for an incredible, year-round display and, at the same time, prepare their landscapes for our area’s inevitably intense summer heat.

Kick off the New Year in an Eco-Friendly, Colorful Way

The UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden’s student-led Arboretum Ambassador team invite families, students, community members of all ages to their second natural tie-dye workshop Saturday, January 19, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The event is free, all you need to bring is white items you wish to tie-dye, such as t-shirts, socks, shorts, pillow-cases, etc.
