Sheep Shift Climate Poetry

From April 24 to 26, the UC Davis Sheepmowers, a team comprised of several dozen sheep working in partnership with the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden to maintain campus lawns as part of an ongoing research endeavor, join forces with the Big Shift (an ongoing construction project essential to reducing our campus's reliance on fossil fuels). Together, they are collaborating to create "Sheep Shift Climate Poetry."

Job Opening: Irrigation Specialist

Students, faculty and staff participate in a tree planting event along the east side of campus as part of the UC-wide Cool Campus Challenge and to support our continued status in Tree Campus USA.

Cool Campus Challenge Creates Shade

From April 1 through April 26 UC Davis, along with the eight other University of California campuses participated in the 2019 Cool Campus Challenge. The purpose of the challenge was to educate and inform the university community to take simple steps to save energy and reduce waste in order to lower its carbon footprint.

Campus-Grown Trees Transformed

When one of our campus trees needs to be pruned, or removed for health or safety reasons, the green-waste wood is either chipped and used as mulch in landscapes throughout campus, or — depending on future project needs — salvaged and delivered to a local wood miller.
